Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson Begins Term as EHRC Chair

Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson took office as the new Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, replacing Baroness Falkner whose tenure had been criticised by LGBTQ+ organisations. Dr Stephenson, a former Director of the Women's Budget Group and the Fawcett Society, was confirmed by government despite both the Women and Equalities Committee and the Joint Committee on Human Rights declining to endorse her appointment.
